In this episode, Dr. Roth explains about CoolSculpting and Liposuction, from the least to the most invasive treatments. Well, we all know that the option of diet and exercise is of course non-invasive.
After that comes CoolSculpting and/or Liposuction of the abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck). Firstly, CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment. Rather It's used for nonsurgical fat reduction, and is the first intervention procedure.
When Dr. Roth is using the second option of Liposuction, he will inject the Tenesor sterile solution ~ this is a mixture of salt water, which aids fat removal, an anesthetic (lidocaine) which numbs the area to relieve pain during and after surgery. And the drug (epinephrine) causing the blood vessels to constrict, and helping with bruising. It may be the only anesthesia needed for the procedure.
After Liposuction surgery, Dr. Roth always requires his patients to wear a compression garment on the surgery site for 6-weeks 24/7, and then a further 4-weeks for a 12-hour period - daily. Why? Amongst other things it helps to make your skin both 'look good and feel great'.
